No friend is as loyal as a book

Playing around inside as it was wet and windy outside - this is for the Black and white challenge which is currently "the love of my life" and I reckon books are the love of my life. It's also for the technique challenge as this combines black and white, forced perspective and Vaseline blur, for the Flash of Red February and finally it's another attempt at my Get Pushed challenge for this week where my challenger @kali asked me to:
"how about some deliberate blur this week , or a soft focus photo of some kind, you could shoot through some stocking material stretched over the lens, or smear a ring of vaseline on some plastic to hold over the lens as a diy filter to achieve the effect."
I used the suggested Vaseline ring from this link using cocoa butter rather than Vaseline, because although I have no idea where the Vaseline is I'm still treating burned skin with cocoa butter so know exactly where to find that. It's a slightly more exciting experience using plastic over a lens when the lens retracts on the compact camera I'm using if I'm not quick enough..

Three good things:
1. Latest batch of gluten free bread is better, the taste is OK, but the texture still isn't quite right, but this one rose all through the loaf.
2. Another go at making dumplings proved the gluten free veggie suet is OK (it would help if the recipe specified fresh herbs)
3. Far more functional daughter today

Thank you for looking and all your comments and support. I try to thank you here, rather than individually on the thread below and spend that time looking at your pictures.
@kali66 - second attempt at that Get Pushed

I really like the blue and the B&W makes it look dreamlike. I feel like the image definitely tells a story (I love reading books and sometimes I'm really sad when a story or book has come to the end!)

Great pose for the mannequin and I like the edgy blur. Didn't realise you are gluten free. It's a right pain in the neck isn't it! I've found the best bread to be Schar but have had no luck in making my own. Cake, on the other hand, has been a complete success and sometimes even tastes better than full of gluten cake.

@psychographer not me, my daughter - and cakes are fine, mostly substituting gluten free flour does it, like pancakes. Schar she leaps on when she sees it.
