Today I was at a first aid course in the church hall for this church - chosen as an image for the textures for a Flash of Red February which this week is focusing on textures and patterns. This church dates back to the 13th century, the chancel, with parts of the nave built in the 15th century - these are the flint and rubble sections nearest to the camera. The tower was built in 1520 in brick. The porch was built in the 18th century, also of brick and timber.
Three good things:
1. I got to walk there and back - 3 miles each way across the fields
2. I'm a trained first aider again
3. I didn't get called home and got to stay in the course all day
Thank you for looking and your kind comments. I try to thank you here rather than individually in the comments, as I'd rather spend time looking at your pictures
This is a very beautiful church! Sometimes it's hard to comprehend how old some buildings can be. It's been very well preserved and maintained. I love the textures and the various lines and arches of the architecture. So many photographic opportunities here!
