Another attempt at the
Dogwood 52 week challenge which is
Composition: Balance
Balanced composition is pretty straightforward, unless you are trying to shoot in the "Accidental Renaissance" style. So shoot a balanced image in the Accidental Renaissance style.
About the Compositional Eye category:
“In past challenges we have explored the rules of composition. This year we push the rules even further by using them in specific ways to train your compositional eye.”
This one was a challenge, because although I use the Golden Ratio and thirds fairly regularly - I think the camera grid is set up on Golden Ratio - that Golden spiral is something else again, and yes I downloaded a version and was positioning it over pictures to see how they worked. But I like this picture better than any of the station crowd scenes.
A bit more information about the
Mathematical Bridge - and the thing that will amuse you all was that as I turned away to walk back to the station, putting the camera away, a cheeky cyclist flew over the bridge, being followed and remonstrated with by a porter.
Three good things:
1. Delightful, not, consultant may, just possibly, have taken on board some things today (there's a certain irony in not being able to explain that the reason he hadn't been told something earlier was because we hadn't been able to get a word in edgeways, because we weren't able to get a word in edgeways).
2. Appointment time meant we got a bit of a wander around Cambridge instead of 3 hour journey there, appointment, 3 hour journey back;
3. Comfortable relatively uncrowded journeys, mostly because we had the wit to check the tube and find a way around the severe delays.
Thank you for looking and your amazing comments and faves. Your response to the pears was amazing. I prefer to spend time looking at your pictures rather than thanking you individually below
