Since today is the 69th day of this project, I wanted to photograph something from 1969. I decided upon my grandfather's glass coffee mug that commemorated the 1969 Miracle Mets World Series Championship.
My grandfather loved this mug, and drank his coffee out of it every day. What struck me as odd about this attachment was that my grandfather had lost his sight by 1969, so he never actually saw what the mug looked like. Nonetheless, this was his favorite mug, and it's one of the few remaining clear memories of him that I have.
As far as the photography goes, last night I began a photography course and I learned how to change my camera's white balance to adjust for fluorescent lighting. So this is the first time I have taken a picture in my kitchen where the colors look reasonably good. It was worth the registration fee for the course just for that bit of knowledge alone.
