I have just completed 31 consecutive months of having monthly Weight Watchers weigh-ins within two pounds of my goal weight.
Every time a Weight Watchers Lifetime Member achieves ten months of being within two pounds of goal within a calendar year, he/she receives one of these little keys (to go along with the larger keyring that they give out when someone first becomes a Lifetime Member). I weighed in this past Saturday and received a key for the third consecutive year.
Losing the weight was hard. Keeping it off is also hard - you don't get the same kind of accolades for staying in shape as you do when you're shedding the weight. Getting these keys is recognition of the work that it takes to stay in shape, and they are a good reinforcement that the effort is worth it.
Way to go. I have never heard of lifetime member before you, so what is it, and how do you join? I do the online version, but have not been as diligent as you, but your photos and commentary have been inspiring to say the least.
You need to go in person to get Lifetime Membership status (I achieved it in 1986. But three kids and a move to suburbia later, I fell off the wagon....). You need to reach and maintain your goal weight for a set number of weekly weigh-ins (something like five or six weeks - I don't recall) and then you get Lifetime Membership status. With Lifetime Membership, so long as you weigh in every month and are within two pounds of goal weight, you don't have to pay for the meeting. I find that going for the monthly weigh-ins keeps me on track.
When you get to be about 10 pounds above goal weight, consider going to the in person meetings (I don't think they'll let you sign up if you're looking to lose less than that) or look into converting the online membership into a monthly pass (that kind of thing didn't exist in 1986) - it's worthwhile to get the status, because it makes it so much easier to go back if you ever have to.
Thank you Kerri :)
Thanks Warren.
