Nat West Gone West

This building, previously a National Westminster bank, is destined to be a restaurant, with flats above. As in many city centres, many of Leicesters larger bank buildings are now eating and drinking establishments. Near to this one is the Square Bar (Co-operative Bank) and The Goose (Lloyds). Many pubs and bars are suffering reduced trade in the current recession. Two years ago the city centre was busy, noisy and thriving on Thurday, Friday and Saturday nights. Now bars rely on a busy Saturday night, with some closing on other nights in the week.
