A Police helicopter hovering over the city centre this morning. The helicopter is more commonly seen at night, using a searchlight to illuminate whatever scene or incident is being observed. My job sometimes involves outside noise measurements, but when a Police operation is in progress we may as well pack up and go home. I once met a Police helicopter pilot at a school career event, when we were both promoting our jobs. There can’t be many career opportunities – presumably there is only one or two pilots per county.
