Exactly as seen through the camera! Well, sort of. It was through a friends sunglasses –she likes to have a rosy view of the day ahead. Not the best day for me. I was persuaded to try one of the longer red runs. I stepped out of the cable car station at the top, and found myself on a ridge, with a cliff on one side, and what appeared to be a precipice on the other. I had to ski down the precipice to the rest of the piste far below. My first turn was a disaster- my skis promptly headed for the bottom, depositing me in the snow. I descended the top two thirds of the slope on my backside! The rest of the run was long and tiring – we descended 1100m in overcast light, which made it difficult to predict the gradient, and finishing on a narrow icy slope. I finished as I had started – on my bottom.
