After a 4 hour flight to Minneapolis we drove across the prairies for miles. Hundreds of miles. 650 miles to be precise. Inter-State Highway 90 just kept on going in front of us, the grassland stretched uninterrupted to the horizon and the sky got bigger. It was dusk before we approached the town of Wall, close to the Badlands of South Dakota.
