We loved the dramatic scenery of the Badlands. At this time of the year there may be plenty of different colours to be seen, but green isn't one of them. We viewed the rocks from the tops of ridges and from the bottom of gullies, and saw plenty of wildlife, including prairie dogs (as common as rabbits are in the UK), bison, coyote, and even a distant wolf. We were really lucky. We never saw a rattlesnake despite signs warning us of their presence.
