We are spending more time up on Croft Hill than usual – it is the only mud free area around here. There may not be as much water underfoot, but everything is dripping – the trees, the gorse, and the long grass. The dogs still at least one walk with a route longer than the Hill can offer, and so we can’t avoid the mud entirely, but it is nice returning from a walk on the Hill, when a brisk rub down is all that is require. For the dogs, I mean.
