Snow, and quite a lot of it – although probably as much as Mair has in Wales. It started mid-morning, and continued until late evening. Fortunately I had already arranged to have this afternoon off work and so was able to able the dogs out. There were already people sledging on Croft Hill – just a few, since schools had not finished for the day, and so I headed for the fields –it’s so embarrassing when your large German Shepherd chases a sledge and sledger, barking furiously. I know that she is harmless, but the rider on the sledge may not. The lying snow was white, the sky, with more snow to come, was white, and the dogs provided the only colour. I walked the dogs again later on, heading for the Hill at about 8.00pm, only to find that there were still plenty of people sledging in the dark – from the cars and vans parked at the bottom of the Hill, I am confident that they weren’t schoolchildren.
