Foxglove in its prime. by shepherdman

Foxglove in its prime.

Foxgloves are still in their prime, not only in the wild, as this one is, but also in the garden. We have an annual family “do” at the end of June, and the garden foxgloves are usually past their best at this time. Not this year – they form a glorious self-seeded curtain of purple spires amongst and behind the shrubs. We have a neighbour who sells fruits, flowers and vegetables from a self-service stall on the Lane, and foxgloves are among his wares. Odd really – we have so many that any growing in the wrong place end up on the compost heap.
Foxglove have to be on the top 10 of flowers. Pretty
