The road down to the village is lined on one side by some large and impressive houses – this is actually the back door to one of them. One particular home has recently been sold, and the new owners installed an impressive big spiral staircase. I know this, because the owners also had a huge ground to eaves window installed from the top landing down to the hallway, giving a perfect view of the staircase from the footpath opposite, which used by many dog walkers, including those of us walking dogs from the Hill down to the pub and back. I do hope that the new owners have sensible pyjamas.
