We went to the zoo today – Twycross zoo in Leicestershire, with a view to photographing some wildlife (well, maybe a rather loose definition of wildlife). Modern zoos are not ideal if you wish to convince a friend that you have been on safari. For a start the enclosures are huge – very laudable and of course much better for the occupants, but the snow leopard and amur leopard are both excellent at hide and seek and we had to concede the game to each of them, leaving without a sighting. Where animals were happy to be entertained by the antics of the visiting public they watched from behind glass, and the juveniles of the public species left grubby smears that no amount of careful depth of field selection could eliminate. We were invited in by lemurs, entering their enclosure as they were fed, which provided photo opportunities, including this one - a lady who, like us, had been brought in to entertain the lemurs. I’m not sure what they made of these words of wisdom. Further wildlife photos will no doubt follow, if there are any left after I have eliminated the substandard ones.
Nice find...:)
