This grass grows in a large area across a corner of an arable field that is r4eguklar flooded, and remains damp in all but the driest weather. When we first moved to the area this corners was sown along with the rest of the field, but crops on this patch never thrived, and about 4 years ago the farmer gave up and left the area to revert to what grows naturally. Consequently these large tussocks of grass have taken over. I’m not sure what this grass is called. I thought I’d identified it, using my British Wildlife book, as a variety of rush, but when I read that the variety is common on the coast, but rare inland, it was clear that I had mis-identified. You cannot be further from the UK coast than we are.
Fantastic processing, lovely rush, hard to tell which type with the high key could be the Juncus effusus ( haven't a notion what their English name is)
