A small wildlife pond in the “wild area” of a park in a village not far from us, more of a suburb of Leicester, really. The pond had everything that a wildlife pond should have really – bankside plants, overhanging trees, lots of shelter, and even a couple of ducks. The only feature that could possibly discourage wildlife is the adjacent slopes and hollows of the immediately adjacent skateboard/mountain bike course, and the inevitable whooping teenagers enjoying themselves. Who are, I suppose, wildlife of sorts…….
