A harassing sort of day after a harassing week at work, but at least I was working at home today which meant that I could walk the dogs in daylight at the end of a gorgeously sunny, if cold, day (and it was at the end of the day despite what my camera clock said - it needs a severe re-programming). The sunlight was low and golden, and the sky a crisp blue as I prepared to down-tools and grab the dog leads in order to install a dog at the end of each one and set off across the fields. And then the phone rang, and by the time that I had concluded the conversation the sunshine had gone, the sky was an even deeper blue, but a large yellow full moon was gently ascending over Huncote, the village visible over the fields. It was one of those rare days when the dusk would not give in to darkness without a struggle, and even when we got home darkness had only just gained the upper hand. The entire dog walk was under the watchful eye of that golden moon, which paled as it climbed into the sky. A peaceful walk, well needed balm for the soul.
I tried to takes some photos of the moon yesterday because it looked so beautiful - but the results were disappointing. This is a lovely picture, and the framework of branches really works
I can relate, I've been on the road all week doing student recruitment work which is body and mind numbing. Frankly I am getting too old for this kind of regimen. Your lovely serene shot of this beautiful moon and the description of your lovely walk has lifted my spirits. Thank you.
