We had animal guests at a recent family birthday party, courtesy of a local organisation who are licenced for wild animal rescue, and bring animals to schools, hospices, care homes, as well as parties. We welcomed cuddly and not-so-cuddly beasties, and I think that, if viewed in a certain way, this tarantula could fall in either of these categories. A minute or so later the spider started raising a couple of front legs into the air, as if to conduct a chorus of Happy-Birthday-To-You, and one of the people who brought the animals casually explained that the spider was getting a bit stressed.
