A Yorkshire swan on "The Dam", orginally a small resevoir serving a local mill, now a wildlife pond in the valley by my sister's home. There were three local resident swans - a well established couple, and a male interloper, who had wicked intentions on the lady of the couple, being repeatedly driven off by her long term partner. When we left to return home after a break in Yorkshire over Easter, there were just two swans. But was the original male still in residence? Or did the female have a new beau? We may never know.
