With recent warm weather late spring is bursting out all over, with hawthorne blossom, cow parsely and an assortment of wildflowers in the hedgerows. These dandelions, threatening to spread seeds across countryside and gardens alike, are along a fieldside footpath. Today the fied of cerials behind our home was sprayed, presumably with herbicide. The tractor driver seemed to be making every effort to keep the spray to the crops, without spraydrift onto the field edges left as 5m wide wildlife corridors.
