This poor specimen of a Kniphofia Uvaria Malibu Yellow is being eaten by something! It's not even getting the chance to turn from green to yellow before it's flowers are nibbled away! Such a shame.
Despite it's state, the little hover fly was still going to try for a feed. Don't know why because there are plenty of healthy flowers in the garden!
I took this because I love the colour of the flower and the background effect of green plants behind the fence. It's nice to show something that is not perfect but is still quite beautiful, in my eyes anyway!
I agree with your commentary completely. This is a gorgeous photo - I like the faint trestle pattern behind it and that little hover fly really adds to it. Good to spot the beauty in all things - all things deserve it.
Oh this is a lovely shot!! Great textures and colours!! Somehow I am finding beauty in imperfection at the moment - it certainly adds some interest to a photo. I love the little hoverfly!! Great image!!
