I tried to catch him frozen mid jump, but obviously got my settings wrong!
I ran out of time to get it right so will leave this experiment for another day......
Judging by your EXIF, you didn't have a fast enough exposure. The bigger the bottom number (you have 1/4) the faster it takes the shot but you also have to make sure there is enough light from aperture and ISO speed so you can see him too :) Try 1/250 or 1/500, smaller number aperture (you have f/10) and if that aperture still doesn't let in enough light you can bump up the ISO a bit (400 or 800 should be good). I have the same camera you do. Good luck! I love how this came out, regardless. I don't think I could do this on purpose if I tried.
Marcel Duchamp would be proud of you and suggest calling this, "Young Man Descending the Stairs" Were you using a flash? I can't figure out how you got the two exposures. I'm jealous!
I at first thought that one image was from a flash exposure and the other was the ambient light, but no, it's not that, both images are too sharp to have been taken at 1/4 second. It's a nice happy accident though.
This is so cool! In fact, I think it meets my challenge for this week, which is to capture people in motion! Cleverly shot, even if it wasn't what you intended.
