The bird feeding station is really busy at the moment. The weather is still awful. Today we had rain, sleet, snow, hail and terrible gusts of wind, then within 30 minutes the sun came out and the winds dropped. Didn't last long though. The wind is howling around the house again at the moment.
The detail and colour on this little robin are breathtaking, I would fav it more than once if I could. Sounds as if you had a whole winter's worth of different weather in one day.
@tristansmum yes, I'm in bed now and the wind is still howling and gusting. I wonder where all the little birds go to stay safe overnight.

@shepherdmanswife I don't go out these days except for hospital appointments for my ankle, but I know it has been very cold and that there is still ice around, not so much from the December storm, but from the snow melting and then freezing, making walking quite dangerous. Today we did have some sunshine and slightly warmer temps--that is supposed to continue for a day or too. It's nice to see snow and ice melting, but for the fear that it will all freeze again and make conditions even more treacherous. Ah well, spring will eventually arrive, I hope ,,,
