just got my new Lensbaby Composer Pro Sweet 35! Wow, no one said how difficult it is to get a good shot with one and I'm not sure how to use it, but like the effect on Muffin in this photo as she ran past me.
Please critique.
Beautiful shot with a great sense of movement! I didn't realise it is difficult to use a lensbaby. I will watch your shots with interest and put off buying one for a while.
This is wonderful, looks like you've got the hang of it just fine!
When I started with mine I found it easier to shoot around f5.6 - you don't get as much blur but it's a lot easier to control. I worked my way down from there.
Lensbaby is a whole other shooting experience for me. I've got a lot of garbage but a few shots I really love. Every time I pick it up though it takes me a while to adjust my shooting style for it again so I tend to go on jags of using it and then not using it for months. I have the composer however not the sweet 35 so I'm not really familiar with the quirks of that one.
crazy suggestion, but play with the lb and really bend it and see if you enjoy the abstract results. You are such a great photographer and I am curious to see how far you can take your creative juices.
Me.personally-i love lensbaby shots when they're are not in focus- really ,blurry and abstract like---that's the effect I love to get from this lens-if you're trying to achieve sharp image-you might as well as used a regular lens--LB for me is to shoot something different from the normal.-So keep doing what ur doing-more abstract, more artsy-is much better,i think- and -please yourself first then your viewer second:)-enjoy -love this shot btw>)
I can't really offer any critique as I have never used a Lensbaby myself and know almost nothing about them, but I like this capture of Muffin's purposefulness and beautiful blue eyes.
It is a fascinating shot - not too familiar with the Lensbaby so no help there - but the detail on the head shot is so interesting with the rest being out of focus. Really pinpoints those eyes.

I don't know if you are supposed to be exact or just use it and enjoy the end results??
