@bethshepherd yes we have been staying with friends in Squamish and spent a week on Vancouver Island. You'll see from my photos that we went Grizzly bear watching which was fantastic. We go home next Saturday. but would love to stay longer.
@shepherdmanswife Where were the grizzly bears? I've been to Vancouver Island though not far up either side.Would love to go to Tofino which I've heard is spectacular! Granted, I'm a bit south in Seattle, but closer to Vancouver Island than Leicestershire!
@bethshepherd The bear trip was from Campbell River on the East coast of Vancouver Island. The company was called Campbell River Whale Watching and you get taken on a boat for 70 miles up the Orford river to Bute Inlet (on the mainland) to the first nations camp. They then bus you to various places along the river where they hope the bears will be seen. We saw 10 Grizzlies on our trip. I highly recommend it.
gorgeous, our ferries were all cancelled to Nantucket and Martha's Vineyard today and probably tomorrow because of the tropical storm coming closer than they thought.
Your pictures of Canada make me want to visit. It is now onot my bucket list.
