Sparrowhawk

Couldn't believe my luck when I was photographing garden birds, this Sparrowhawk flew in and briefly landed on this log. The garden birds left for a while until it was safe to come out and feed again.

Fabulous birds. I remember once seeing one swoop in by my kitchen window, pierce the breast of an unaware pigeon and carry it off. Brutal but amazing. Love this shot. Fav.
