Japanese Maple Leaves by shepherdmanswife

Japanese Maple Leaves

at different stages of colour change, all taken from the same tree.
Very striking. Is this Japanese maple a bright yellow green during the summer and only turns red in the fall?

@gardencat no I know the one you're thinking of. It starts a burgundy red, but some of the leaves have gone green then bright red. It's at it's prettiest right now with the majority being a bright red.

@shepherdmanswife I love the variety of Japanese maples. I have 2. One spends the whole summer a really bright and lovely yellow green and then, in autumn, the leaves turn a sort of apricot colour and the other spends the summer a kind if light red tone and in the autumn goes a deeper, almost but not quite, burgundy tone.

I enjoyed both images but preferred Autumn Flowers as I felt it had more impact.

Love the minimalism and large negative space. It really lets those leaves stand out.
