Where did they go?

I never see Starlings in my back garden anymore. Years ago they were the majority on the feeders. What happened? Where have they gone? I saw this one in the countryside.

They must have headed up to us. I regularly have between 50 - 100 in the garden most mornings devouring the seed I put out. There is actually a belief with some "experts" that the Starling in Shetland is a separate sub-species like the Wren.

We have our own squadron we feed daily, they are a crazy bunch.

Interesting question. Around here they seem to come in flocks, stay for a while, and then disappear again for weeks.
