HELP!!! by shesnapped

HELP!!!

I love this photo so much it makes my heart hurt!!! But you can see the problem with it. Could someone PLEASE tell me how to remove those people behind my little Charlie Brown. There has to be a way in PS to remove them besides the awkward, ineffective, unnatural way I've been trying....
What editing programs do you use?

@jgpittenger I've got LR and PS, and then I've got the OnOne Suite and the Nik programs.

@shesnapped ok, so what I would do is in PS, copy the background layer and then use probably the magic selection tool to create a selection with baby and grass and then invert the selection. Then make a mask from that and fill the selection ( now just the sky) with foreground color that I've selected the same white from. Hope that makes sense. Good luck

@jgpittenger Jane, that seems like the easiest thing to do, and exactly what I've been trying to do - but each time I use the magic selection tool, it goes completely crazy with his hair! Any suggestions?

@jgpittenger I FINALLY found a video that was really good and showed a simple but detailed way to make the selection with the Quick Selection tool - I was SO psyched!!!

@sdutoit Oh yes! I've been able to somewhat duplicate the examples on that thread. Mine still look a little elementary at this point, but I'm making progress!!!
