This egret is from the same photoshoot as the other one I posted from Chincoteague. Not sure if it's the same egret or not. Can't remember. But I do remember that I was using auto ISO, a trick I learned last summer from a class I took and ended up having absolutely no luck with at all. But I've been revisiting the concept and having a little more luck with it. But, of course, it's not perfect, and sometimes the shots are not exposed correctly at all. Which was the case with this one. For whatever reason, the camera decided this needed an ISO of 3200. NOT! The shot was so overexposed you could barely tell there was anything in it! But while playing around with it in LR, I lowered the exposure and the guy actually appeared, albeit with a brown wing! But that eye! Oh how did I get that eye!! Needless to say, I just HAD to find a way to use it! So I took it over to Perfect B&W (from the OnOne collection) and found a really cool preset, and voila!
Grace in action. I love, love the processing. I like that you save/keep the shots that you kinda do and kinda don't like because you never know what might work later. I am learning so much from our 365 community all the time. New techniques, new software, new equipment and of course encouragement to keep taking shots.
Hi Ashley. Your biological says you would like to spend more time photographing people and people indoors. While you clearly excel at the bird photos, you don't have heaps of human photos. I really enjoyed the new car photo, and the man in the shipyard. My get pushed challenge is for you to take a photo of a human subject that incites sympathy. Either happy or sad. Does that sound ok?
Hi Ashley, I am your partner and would you like to.....
1 Architecture shot focusing on the form (lines, curves, angles) of the building or
2 A people photograph, the twins maybe? or
3 Low light photo ?
