This is the shot that brought the tears to my eyes. Only in hindsight could I imagine what was going on here. At the time I took the photo, I thought this was a mom on the playground asking "Where's your mommy little guy?" She walked around him a few times, looked at him, then walked around looking out and about. Then she flew up in to the tree branches over him, and finally flew off.
As I was processing this photo, my thoughts took a different turn. Maybe she was doing what I couldn't do, didn't know I needed to do - maybe she came to see if there was anything she could do to help, maybe to offer some comfort and let him know he wasn't all alone. I hope she helped ease his soul just a bit and made his passing less lonely.
When we were in the hospital for dh's gall bladder, I met the lady in the room beside us and her best friend. The best friend told me their story. The patient's name was Beth. She had had her own gall bladder removed two weeks ago. But she had been diagnosed with breast cancer only three weeks ago and was in this time for a double mastectomy. Gall stones and the ensuing bladder removal is so common and simple, and the outlook so easy in comparison to cancer. Beth has already lost both her mother and her sister to cancer. Only God knows what the future holds for her, or for any of us. Say a prayer for Beth as you talk to God today. She's a neat lady, and so is her friend. Say a prayer for all those you know who are struggling with health issues in your circle of life and here on 365. And maybe we can all remember that sometimes we're called upon to be guardian angels to someone in need as we walk this walk of life. Let's not overlook the signs and let the opportunities pass us by. We are indeed called upon to feed His sheep, and even His birds. :-)
A beautiful capture to light your words. Having gone through cancer myself I know how scary it can be. Having an angel watching over you can be the part that sees you through some of the toughest times. Beth will definitely be in my prayers
How's it going, Ashley? Hope all is well with both you and hubby, and Beth.
Just thought I would drop a line to let you know I have been thinking of you.
