Thanks to Wendy's @farmreporter and Joy's @joysabin recommendations, went back in and changed the ratio to 8x10 and flipped the orientation. Eyes stay in the rule of thirds (golden ratio), and the full reflection that was captured is now visible. Also rethought the blur and changed the point a bit to try to capture the correct planes.
I prefer the first one with more water in front of him/her - but like this one with more reflection.
Did not realize that you cropped very little reflection out - thought that the reflection was much larger in the original. Is it possible to ease up on the rule of thirds in regards to the eyes, and not crop so much of the reflection for your first picture?
Ask Frank about it.
@farmreporter One thing is for certain, I cannot figure out the colorspace when the photo saves directly from PS to the hard drive and skips LR in the process. I guess I'm somehow missing the sRGB link in PS. Here.
@farmreporter Wendy, I'll play with that idea and see what I come up with when dh and I are on the road this afternoon. I'll post my results regardless of how they turn out ... :-)
Now you are getting technical on me - I barely know how to crop! So sorry - can't help you there but am always willing to give my two cents on what looks good to me! And that is just my humble opinion to boot and it is much different a lot of others.
Sometimes you have to ditch the rules and go with your gut and eye. You have to please yourself before worrying about other opinions.(In my humble opinion - LOL!)
