Some of you may remember a few years back when my mother and I had a little project going where I took a photo and she captioned it. We did that for a year, and when the year was over we made a Shutterfly book out of it. One of my all-time favorite books!!! Well, we’ve decided to start again, and I sent her Photo #1 yesterday. I’ll post our project again with the tag “Mom Project”. What follows is her response:
Oh gee, it’s almost my turn. I’m next in line. Stay calm now, Girl, and focus on the issue at hand: how best to stand out and set myself apart so that the message I convey is “I’m not like everyone else; I can offer you something unique.” But I’m sooo nervous and just wish I had room to think. I mean, really, it’s so damn crowded in here. Deep breaths … in, out, in, out. One more time … in, out. You’ve got this!
Wonderful project! I recently took a poem my mother wrote years ago, used my photos to reflect her words, and had it printed with Shutterfly. It turned out so nice! I made one for my sister for a Christmas present.
Great idea! Hi Ashley, i just saw Northy’s posting, we’re gp-partners again.
For your challenge next week could you make a photo that shows a faceless selfportrait?
I didn't see your first round with your mother, but I hope to see more of these! This is an absolute delight! Aren't we lucky that we can save our photo stories in books these days?!
@francoise She has that same kind of creative writing gift that you do! You both take a photo and come up with something straight out of left field - I LOVE IT!!
