View from the house.

Again today has been a horrid wet, grey day like yesterday. No encouragement to go out at all. Because it so dull and grey I thought I would try my hand at a B&W shot. You can see the rain across the other side of the valley. Any advice on improvement very welcome.
You have such a pretty view from your home! I think it looks great in B/W!! I especially like the stone walls with the wild flowers around them and how they come to a V!! FAV!

@cashew Thank you for your lovely comment. There are flowers in the foreground but the rest are actually full grown trees. The land falls quite steeply down towards the beck. These trees have grown up an awful lot since we came to live here, once on we could see most of the village. Now we look straight at the pub!!! :)

What a lovely view - even in the rain. The B&W works well. I'm bot sure I could improve on it except perhaps to cut off even more of the very light sky. A shot in portrait format of the section with the view through to the houses and fields might be worth a try sometime.

@sueb47 Thanks for you comments Sue. I will try the portrait format, I like the idea of that.

I agree with cropping out the top part of the picture just above the houses, but all in all it's a nice picture in b/w.

You have certainly captured the essence of the gloomy day with this nice B&W image :)

This scene becomes beautiful in the light B&W that you have chosen - not too much contrast!

Oh Shirley - just stunning, Will you post in colour also?

A lovely scene despite the rain. The b&w makes it feel moody.
