This is the little Bertie Bassett man was made by my daughter as part of the story card she gave her Dad for Christmas. I have dismantled the card now, mainly because hubby has now eaten a number of the sweets. But I couldn't resist a quick shot of him because I think he is so cute and clever. This little man caused quite a panic in my daughters house because he is held together with cocktail sticks and while she was making the card, she turned her back for a couple of minuets and her little dog stole the man and ate him - sticks and all. Not only is liquorice bad for dogs she was frightened of the sticks puncturing something inside him. All this resulted in a rapid trip to work (She is a vet) and he was made to vomit. Luckily all the sticks came back whole without doing any damage.
Your daughter if very clever and very thoughtful to go to so much trouble/fun to make the card for her Dad and take care of her pooch that ate the wrong candy! LOL What a story! I love it and hope you at least get that picnic if you don't get to go on that dream vacation!! Bertie is really cute and I can see why he got eaten the first time!! LOL
