It has been a long day at the Royal Highland Agricultural Show today. We were up at 5.15 am and left home at 6 pm. Usually it takes approx 2 1/2 hours driving to get to the show field, today it took us 4 hours!!! The traffic was horrendous on the M8. I think everybody had the same idea to get up early and beat the traffic! I also think there were the most people there that we have ever seen on the Thursday of the show. We really enjoy going to this show, there are some outstanding cattle on show.

@tonydebont@onewing@peterlgrave@deborah63@hermann@harbie@happypat Thank you all for your lovely comments. The weather was lovely and warm. Peter we would love to be able to go the night before but can never plan in time. Everywhere gets booked up so far in advance. At this time of year we never know if we will be silaging and we are also in the middle of calving time as well so never know what is going to happen. Pat were and when is the Lakeland show, I don't know of this one.
@shirleybankfarm Really Shirley, its on the show ground just outside Kendal. Beautiful ground with good walkways if wet. It's on the second Thursday of September, just for one day. A reall good proper farming show with great stalls, entries of all kinds, we love it.
@happypat@shirleybankfarm Just realised, Harry's just told me it's the Westmoreland show, I called it the wrong name so you will probably go anyway! Getting muddled up in my old age!
@happypat Ha ha, I did wonder if it was the Westmorland you meant. Yes we try to go every year if we can. We have even shown cattle there in the past. We won't be showing this year because we have nothing that is show standard, but if we aren't busy will be going. It is a great show and I think it is my second fav.
@beachdog We always have a great day at the Highland. It normally takes us 2 1/2 hours but I think everybody must have had the idea to go on the Thursday this year.
