How soon the jobs seem to come around in the farming world. It hardly seem a year that we were clipping the sheep last year. I rather think they will be jolly pleased to get their woolly jackets off this year with all the sun we have been having.
I should think they will be Shirley, good riddance to all that wool. I expect the price of wool is still shocking! When you but pure wool in the shops it's so expensive but the price off the sheeps back is rubbish!
@happypat@anniesue@ellida@gilbertwood Thanks again for taking the time to comment. @happypat I'm not sure what the price of wool is this year but often the cost of a fleece just pays the cost of having it clipped. @anniesue I'm not sure why but the sheep don't seem to cast their wool no matter how hot it is. Those you see that have lost some of their wool are ones that have maybe had something wrong with them or they have been feeding their lambs hard and got out of condition, then when they start to 'do well' or thrive again they tend to loose their wool. Again I don't know why this happens.
