One thing one must watch for along the coast of Northern California is this beauty. I love its beautiful shiny red. But it is very dangerous for some people because it is poison oak. I have never had poison oak, but my hubby can get it if I get it on my clothes. It puts him on a course of super strong steroids.
My husband is hyper allergic to poison ivy so we have to be careful with that. A friend got a terrible case of it recently. She was pulling the vine out of her garden not knowing what it was- poor thing her face was so swollen you could barely recognize her. Stay away from those shiny red leaves!
