Hanukkah table

We were invited to a Hanukkah party. There were 18 invitees, thus the plastic plates. I thought the table was beautifully set. The food and company were also very nice.

Very striking in the blue and white , but may I ask ,why ate the knives set with the blades pointing upwards?
