Red currants. by snowy

Red currants.

Just finished making black currant jam. Now have to start on the red currants, it seems a shame to pick them they look so pretty. But if I don't the birds will eat them, and we would have no red currant jelly !
I never had current jam. Is it tart or sweet? I love jam. The photo turned out nice too.

it's tart pity you could taste it if you were a bit nearer

lovely colours - we just picked the first batch of redcurrants yesterday and Ed made his redcurrant meringue pie - it's really nice - I'll have to give you the recipe - shame we don't have any blackcurrants, though.

How wonderful. I'd love to be able to pick something to make jam from. When we were little mum made mulberry jam and it's still my favourite.

That is a great shot. It would be fabulous to be able to berries to make jam from. The creek banks where we walk the dogs have mulberries so if I can collect enough I may give it a go but when the berries are fruiting it is very popular place as everyone has the same idea.

Love the colors of your photo.
I don't know about currants -- so this was very interesting to me.
I love to see a pic, later, of your jars of jelly/ jam.
