Pelican Fly Over by soboy5

Pelican Fly Over

I was fortunate to be standing in the right spot on the edge of the beach as these two graceful pelicans suddenly changed directions and did a fly-over of the photographer. Here they are on their approach towards me. I'd like to think they were showing off for the camera!
Lovely contrast of the straight wings and the v shape. Great capture

Oh wonderful! How do you get these shots?
July 6th, 2012
@cgould Thanks, Celia! I just stood at the edge of the beach with my Nikon and 200 mm lens and shot away. I ended up with about a dozen really good shots out of about 100 I took. I do not' normally just shoot away, but with pelicans, I had no choice as they are fast flyers.
