Here are my cousins Laura (in the tree) and Michael (her husband, doing his part by giving me the thumbs up sign), picking the very best Vermont apples. Laura is a great apple tree climber as she has lots of experience - she grew up with apple trees in her yard! Apples really do taste better when picked right from the tree. This orchard had thousands of gorgeous apple trees, growing apples of every variety you could imagine. We had a really fun time there. Tomorrow we will see a landscape view taken from high atop the apple orchard.
Clever you keeping you feet firmly on terra firma... someone has to record the scene for posterity! Love all the greens and glimpses of busy apple pickers amongst the leaves!
I miss my childhood days of apple, nut and berry picking. The only thing we have to pick around here (but not allowed) are oranges and other citrus fruit ;-) Nice candid shot!
