The Japanese Maple in my back yard has really lit up this week. At certain times of the day, it appears as if the leaves are either on fire or being illuminated by electricity. I thought it looked nice here with a touch of yellow poplar to balance its vivid red display.

Thanks so much for the all the very kind and supportive comments on yesterday's negative space experiment. When I am stepping out of my photographic comfort zone and posting the result on the internet, I never know whether I am showing my friends something good or something that is rubbish. Thanks for convincing me that yesterday's image fell into the good category.
