Thanks for all the really nice comments and favs on my "pets" series - I enjoyed introducing all four of these characters to you all! Now it is time to begin my classic automobile series. I've attended two great classic car shows since I last posted a car photo, so I have a lot to show you!
First up is this pristine, perfectly restored 1959 Chevrolet Corvette, looking resplendent in period correct aqua blue. The '59 Corvette was built during the era of excessive chrome in American automobiles, and it did not disappoint with its huge, chrome-toothed grill and quad headlamps. The front and rear ends of this classic sports car were dripping with chrome plating! This is the first shot of what is going to be a mini-series within the car series - four Corvette shots. Tomorrow, we shall see how different the Corvette looked after the passage of ten years!
This image was taken right after a sudden rainshower at the show ended, so it is best viewed large to see the rain drops on the paint and chrome.
You are right about the raindrops beading up.
I love it when you do cars as you shoot them with obvious love and knowledge. I think we do are best work when we start from there.
