American Beech by soboy5

American Beech

The American Beech is a deciduous tree native to eastern North America. Its winter twigs are distinctive among North American trees, being long and slender. You can clearly see one of its trademark twigs on the right side of this image when enlarged. One of the many things I like about Webb Bridge Park is that each species of hardwood tree is identified with an informative sign.
It's great to go yo places that have those educational signs.

I'm sure we have these around our neck of the woods -- I mean that literally with all the woods around her ;-) I'll have to be on the lookout for one. That's a great idea to display the signs naming the trees in this park.

Nice shot, Danny. I love places that identify trees and flowers as I am a total rookie and need all the help I can get if you don't hang ornaments on it.

Very interesting. I wish I was able to walk through a park and identify tree species.
