After we left the pocket park, Josh took me to see this treasure - a section of the real Berlin Wall. The artwork is by Thierry Noir. Please view this one enlarged.
For more information about how this section of the Berlin Wall ended up in a landscaped courtyard at the corner of 53rd and Madison, follow this informative link: http://empireguides.com/2013/08/berlin-wall-nyc/
Amazing, that part of the wall is in NYC. It is so symbolic. Super image of it, Danny. Looked at the link, really interesting, thank you. We never saw the Wall in Berlin but looked over from West Germany to East Germany in the Harz Mountains, which were part in the East, part West. The barrier there (1980s) was electrified fencing, lookout towers with armed guards and scarified, mined land!
I had no idea that was in NY. Great history there. Is it behind a rope or anything to protect it from people?
Nice Shot Danny~
