The Hunter by spanner

The Hunter

I have some new optics for the lensbaby so had an idea to try something creepy with the pinhole optic. I was also given a mask yesterday which is horrible. I doctored the mask and tried to create an image that is unpleasant. I know it is not aesthetically pleasing but hopefully haunting and effective in the way it is supposed to be.
Had me intrigued at the thumbnails!

I like this a lot, great effect and reasonably creepy-ish...how bad is the mask?

Lou
My aesthetics are hugely pleased by haunting, knock-kneed boys and wet-plate simulation. It's a winner for me.

everything is convincing except for the stance. it looks too concentrated on the camera/picture/keeping things looking less expressive to me, instead of being dully inhabited. and im only talking very minor body language...hand positioning, width of space between feet, etc. i usually like those half-blown humanimal deals, so i do appreciate the vision here.

Quite disturbing, which I'm guessing is what you wanted

Reminds me of Frank from Donnie Darko - I really like this image (Two in the past week. You're on a roll sir haha)

I like it.....:)

I'm not sure which one works more. I love the composition here, and the shadow cast. And the fact that he is slightly more out of focus, which to my mind, gives him a more "far away" or "removed" feeling. Both work well. And I like the tag silly. Hahaha. Not at all.

Can't decide which one I like best either. Both have got a slight Donnie darko feel to it!

Creepy but cool! ;)

@tinac1 @blueberry1222 @graemestevens @louuncouth @ubiquitybutsomewhatdownsized @rachelwithey @dextermurray @ourrube @stillcrappysailor @roseolivia @agentzuckerguss thank you all for your response to this shot. I posted it thinking it would be completely ignored so have been pleasantly surprised by your comments and feedback.

@roseolivia yes, these are more inwardly satirical than outwardly satirical, so while they initially made me think of gummo, donnie darko is a better overall fit, i feel like.

creepy shot. but I love it.

@ubiquitybutsomewhatdownsized I had no idea who gumbo was. I now know why you made the comparison. Thank you as ever for your comments.

@shaunasauna7 Thank you Shauna.

@spanner i recommend harmony korine in general, but be prepared to bleed for him. (you might find some of his minimalism, documentary style shooting, and emotional immersion potentially inspiring, now that i think of it.)
