Castell'Arquato is a medieval town located on the hills of Val D'Arda, perched on the hill and overlooking the valley. It is about thirty kilometers from the city of Piacenza. The village was built on the left bank of the Arda river according to the structure of the medieval villages and has not undergone notable changes over the years.
I already went to Castell'Arquato in the past, about five years ago. When we decided to have a trip to Piacenza, I was impatient to get back here again. Walking through the roads of this medieval town is like a dive into the past.

I am glad that an effort has been made to let it (the castle) stay true to its nature. This is a beautiful set of buildings. I remember "Ladyhawke" one of my favorites.
@joysabin I completely forgot the funny story. My bad. We went into the church, the building on the left of the photo. The entrance is on the other side.
I had the full equipment, this means not only the camera but also the backpack, the tripod in one hand and the wired remote in the other so I can say that I wasn't invisible. I wasn't alone too and the people inside the church noticed us. I'm sure about this.
My approach was systematic, I started to shoot from the first lateral room on the right and then I would proceed to the next one. My purpose was to cover all the church.
In the first room there were wonderful frescos on all the walls and on the ceiling. When I was working my wife came to me worried because all the people left at once and she heard a strange sound on the door.
We instantly understood that the keeper locked us inside the church. So we did the only thing we could do in that situation... to knock with energy on the door.
From the outside someone said: "What is this sound? Ah, this could be the photographer."
The keeper opened the door and we were free to go.
And now the funny part.
My wife was happy, but I didn't because I took photos of only one room and I thought how wonderful should be to be there for all the time I needed and with no one to bother me.
