My daughter and I started out on a short walk today that ended up being very long. We went to the Ballard Locks to celebrate it's opening since the government shutdown, and kept going until we ended up at Golden Gardens. We stopped for a minute at this statue of Lief Ericson in the marina. I remember when I was a little girl I used to stop at this statue that used to tower over a fountain. I would always throw coins in the fountain and wish that my ill mother would get better...surprisingly she did. Maybe my wishes helped.
